Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions. If your question is not on the list, feel free to ask us here.

  • How do I tell you I want a nanny?

Fill out an application by clicking here.

  • How is my A+ nanny or sitter certified?

A+ Nannies and Sitters provides our own certified professional to do the CPR training.

  • Do you offer summer nanny positions for my school-age children?

Yes, we do. We charge our normal application fee and a $400 placement fee.

  • What is included in the background check for nannies and sitters?

A+ Nannies and Sitters wants to insure that you are comfortable with the nanny that we place in your home. We contract with Employment Screening, Inc. to complete our background checks. Included in each screening is a state search for each address listed by a nanny; a social security trace which provides information regarding anywhere or time credit has been checked or that social security number has been used for employment; a seven year search; a motor vehicle report and a sexual offenders search which is an all-inclusive, very in-depth search covering all states and US territories. For further information please visit www.employmentscreeninginc.com.

  • Do families provide benefits such as paid holidays, sick days and health insurance?

Most families provide some type of benefits to their nannies. An example might be that the family would be willing to pay a portion of a health insurance premium. The provision of benefits is a topic that needs to be discussed and agreed upon by the nanny and the family as terms of the employment.
